Student recruiting grant awarded to CSU-Fresno

USPoultry awards grant to Cal State University-Fresno.

The USPOULTRY Foundation awarded a $4,620 student recruiting grant to California State University, Fresno. The grant was made possible in part by an endowing foundation gift from Agri Stats.

The funds will be used for promotional and recruiting materials, poultry science club functions, fundraisers, industry tours, networking events and workshops. Increasing recruiting visibility to help promote the poultry program and engaging with students to attract them into the program is a top priority. There are also several nationally ranked FFA programs and poultry judging competitions, and providing quality judging experiences is instrumental in California State University, Fresno, and attracting young students for these programs and competitions.

The USPOULTRY Foundation board approved student recruiting grants totaling $302,510 to 26 colleges and universities across the United States with a poultry science department or industry-related degree program. The USPOULTRY Foundation provides annual recruiting funds to colleges and universities to attract students to their poultry programs. The grants are made possible by gifts to the foundation from companies, individuals and families, in addition to funds earned over the years at the International Poultry Expo, part of the International Production & Processing Expo.
