Vencomatic organizes digital open house

Farmers tour Dutch poultry facility from a distance

Dutch equipment supplier Vencomatic recently organized a digital open house to showcase a newly built two-tiered poultry house for 36,000 laying hens that included the company’s Bolegg Terrace aviary system.

Open houses are a tradition among poultry farmers in the Netherlands, who invite colleagues to view new facilities before birds are delivered to the site. However, a recent outbreak of infectious coryza in the center of the country necessitated the cancellation of these events.

In response, Vencomatic worked with other companies to hold a virtual open house at its Web site that showcased a new facility at the Davelaar family farm in Kootwijkerbroek, Netherlands. The event included a movie in which representatives from involved companies explained the facility’s features. Vencomatic reports that the event was well-attended.

A short version of the movie with English subtitles can be found on the Vencomatic Web site.
