China meat and food processing firm Zhongpin Inc. has started to construct a new cold-chain distribution center in Changge, Henan province. The 25,000-square-meter facility will contain multi-temperature hybrid refrigeration, a quality assurance center, food processing and sorting plant and other operations.
The center will provide processing, storage and distribution services, and e-commerce, quality assurance and exhibition services for Zhongpin and third-party clients. The company expects the $16.2-million center to be completed and ready for production in December 2010.
