GEA acquires Convenience Food Systems

GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft has acquired Netherlands-based Convenience Food Systems in a bid to expand its food process technology activities. "We are taking our portfolio another big step forward towards the less cyclical food industry," said GEA CEO Jürg Oleas.

GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft has acquired Netherlands-based Convenience Food Systems in a bid to expand its food process technology activities.

"We are taking our portfolio another big step forward towards the less cyclical food industry," said GEA CEO Jürg Oleas. "In doing so, we can leverage the brand value of GEA by offering our customers ever more solutions along their entire process chain from one single source.” The final transaction remains subject to approval by antitrust authorities and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2011.
