The Nash County Planning Board in North Carolina has rejected a Sanderson Farms request to rezone the land Sanderson is considering for building a poultry plant, according to reports.
A vote by the Board resulted in a five to three decision against the rezoning. County commissioners are expected to vote on the rezoning on April 4. Sanderson Farms, in the meantime has said that it will put off a final decision on where to build a new plant for the year until feed prices stabilize.
