Aviagen has announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art Genomics laboratory in Scotland. The facility is equipped to process well over a million DNA samples and genotypes yearly for chicken and turkey lines. This volume represents an unprecedented scale in Genomics throughput, not only in poultry but also across livestock species.

An official opening day was held on June 19 for Aviagen employees to mark this special occasion. The program included a presentation from Aviagen Director of Global Genetics Dr. Santiago Avendaño, followed by a tour of the new facility.
