Veterinarian Devin Stuart has joined Cobb Europe as part of the quality assurance team responsible for Cobb facilities within the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Ireland.
In recognition of the increasing need for full-time veterinary support within the business, Cobb has introduced this new role to support the internal processing and hatchery systems, allowing a coordinated approach to animal health across its entire European production base.
In 2013 Stuart completed a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree from the University of Pretoria, South Africa – one of the most comprehensive, broadly based degrees in veterinary science. Then he worked as a companion animal veterinarian in Cape Town before transferring into the poultry sector in late 2014 as a veterinarian within Astral Operations, the largest broiler integrator within Southern Africa.
He worked as an assistant veterinarian for the Goldi subsidiary and in December 2015 moved to Festive as production veterinarian. During this time, he furthered his studies in the business sector through an Advanced Management Program (North-West University) in 2015, and then a PGDip in Management Practices (Graduate School of Business – UCT) in 2016.
John Vincent, quality assurance director, says, “What is key for Cobb is that we have someone joining the team who can communicate across the full production base. Devin comes with two years of field experience, so he can truly understand how veterinary science interfaces with commercial business needs.”
Stuart’s appointment further strengthens the Cobb quality assurance team to provide professional support to customers on the quality of the product supplied.
