Hendrix Genetics makes top management changes

Hendrix Genetics is making a number of organizational changes it its top management, effective January 1, 2018.

Hendrix Genetics is making a number of organizational changes it its top management, effective January 1, 2018.

The changes are a part of the company’s Vision 2020 plan, which calls for significant growth and investment. A successful transition of the organizational structure is part of the plan and a natural step in the development of the company, according to a press release from Hendrix Genetics.

Additions to executive committee

Ronald de Haan and Dave Libertini and will join the newly expanded executive committee, which will better represent Hendrix Genetics’ worldwide profile and ambitions.

Taking on the role as chief operating officer will be de Haan, who will report to CEO Antoon van den Berg. Offering extensive management experience in integrated food and meat production, de Haan has lived for 13 years in Thailand acting as CEO in Golden Foods Siam, a vertical broiler integrator; Bangkok Ranch Group, a vertical duck integrator including duck breeder Cherry Valley; and Godaco SeaFood Company, a Vietnamese Pangasius integrator.

Libertini will be appointed to the executive committee as vice president Americas, also reporting to the CEO. He and will be based in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.  Libertini has long-term experience in animal breeding in Hendrix Genetics and its predecessor, Euribrid. The Americas is an important development area for Hendrix Genetics, the company stated, and in this role, Libertini will ensure that all activities there are well supported to maximize synergies and growth in the region.

New managing director, turkeys business unit

Raf Beeren will be appointed to the position of managing director, turkey business unit.  Beeren has delivered strong results within Hendrix Genetics and with clients around the world. Most recently, Beeren led the swine business unit of Hendrix Genetics and has worked hard to position that business unit for growth over the last 6 years.  Prior to this role, Beeren held various roles with Hypor and the former broiler breeding division of Hendrix Genetics, Hybro.

Libertini and Beeren will work closely together to ensure a seamless transition of leadership in the turkeys business unit and Dave will continue to be involved in ongoing projects around the world as well as representing Hendrix Genetics on industry and advisory boards.

The process for replacement of Beeren in the swine business unit is well underway, and his successor is expected to be named shortly.
