Iowa Poultry Association (IPA) has announced the recipient of its Hall of Fame Award, ahead of the annual Fall Festival. The Hall of Fame award will be presented to Joe Scallon, of Ham and Eggs in Iowa Falls, Iowa. The honoree will be awarded at the banquet of the 48th Annual Fall Festival, September 19, at the Marriott in West Des Moines.
Joe Scallon of Iowa Falls, Iowa, has been the owner of Ham and Eggs since 1998, and owner of The Good Egg LLC since 2013. Iowa Poultry Association Executive Director, Kevin Stiles said, “Joe was a key part of the recent egg farm video created by Iowa Egg Council (IEC) in 2017, with support from IPA. Examples of Scallon’s media efforts include during the 2015 HPAI outbreak and numerous speaking engagements at key civic and business meetings and gatherings.
Scallon has proven to be an active member and very engaged in both IPA and IEC through the years. He has demonstrated a willingness to step up and support the association and the industry whenever asked.
