Antoon van den Berg, co-founder and original CEO of Hendrix Genetics, has been appointed to return to the role of CEO.
The change in leadership is effective immediately.
He will succeed Jolanda van Haarlem, who has decided to leave Hendrix Genetics to take a next step outside the company. She assumed the CEO position on March 1, 2021, succeeding van den Berg, who held that role for 16 years. Her appointment was made as part of Hendrix Genetics’ Vision 2025 Strategic Plan, which called for a change in leadership and governance structure. She is credited for playing an instrumental role in bringing Paine Schwartz Partners on board as a new shareholder and formulating the strategy for 2026.
Wout Dekker joins supervisory board
With his appointment as CEO, van den Berg will step down from the company’s supervisory board. Wout Dekker joins its Supervisory Board of Hendrix Genetics.
Dekker brings to the supervisory board many years of experience, not only in the agrifood sector but also in supervisory boards of international companies. After completing his MSc Animal Science at Wageningen University in 1983, WoDekker joined the company now known as Nutreco. From 2000 to 2012 he was the CEO of Nutreco. As CEO of Nutreco, he was involved in the divestiture of Euribrid to Hendrix Genetics.
After he stepped down as CEO of Nutreco, he has been involved in several supervisory boards in the profit and non-profit sector, including Rabobank, FrieslandCampina and Princes Maxima center for child oncology. He is currently a member of supervisory board of SHV Holdings NV, Pon Holdings NV, and Randstad NV. As a member of the Hendrix Genetics Supervisory Board, he wants to contribute to the further development of the company in a fast-changing world and help it realizing its strategy.
