Pig breeder PIC delivered 2,300 of its grandparent stock from Canada to franchise partner, PIC Korea.
The breeding pigs were flown in three shipments to supplement local supply in populating large-scale multiplier farms owned by independent Korean producer, Sansugol. PIC Korea is working with Sansugol to double the country's parent gilt production capacity within 12 months, in an effort to aid in repairing the impact of foot-and-mouth disease on Korea's swine industry.
