The COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on the U.S. poultry industry is often, and appropriately, being referred to as “unprecedented.”

Since mid-March, the meat and poultry industry has faced outbreaks at its plants and subsequent worker shortages and temporary plant closures. At the same time, supply chain demands have changed along with consumer behavior.

To help the industry, which has been deemed essential, continue to feed the population, governmental entities have approved new measures.
