  • Tim Scott will join Land O'Lakes Inc. as senior vice president and chief marketing officer, effective April 22.
  • Dr. Mark Cooper has joined the marketing team at Cobb-Vantress as director of product management.
  • Beginning January 1, 2016, Johan van Arendonk will join Hendrix Genetics as chief innovation and technology officer. Van Arendonk will take over the role of Gerard Albers, who will become director innovations for Hendrix Genetics Innovations B.V., a new entity designed to foster innovations beyond the scope of current R&D projects.
  • Research conducted by PhD students and supported by AB Vista, is due to be presented at the upcoming World Poultry Science Association (WPSA) meeting on April 14. The Harper Adams University students will speak about the interaction of exogenous phytase and xylanase on nutrient availability for broilers, during the short orals session in Chester, U.K.
  • Todd Beal has been named director of quality and food safety of Allen Harim. Beal will be responsible for ensuring that a consistent quality product meets or exceeds customer expectations and all regulatory standards.
  • Dr. Jeffrey Gandz and Diane E. McGarry will retire from the Maple Leaf Foods Board of Directors at the annual general meeting of shareholders on April 30. Ron Close has been nominated to join the board as an independent director and will stand for election at the meeting.   
  • Hydratec Industries NV has announced that Bart Aangenendt, CEO of subsidiary company Pas Reform, will succeed the group’s CEO Roland Zoomers, when he steps down later in 2015.
  • Aviagen EPI has invested in a chick storage room with HatchTech’s unique laminar airflow concept. The new chick storage room will be installed in Aviagen’s parent stock hatchery in Bække, Denmark. 
  • Synergy Agri Group of Nova Scotia is the latest winner of the award for the top Cobb500 breeder performance in Canada. The group also received the award for the top chick producing Cobb500FF flock. Couvoir Boire & Frères in Quebec won the award for the Cobb500SF flock that produced the most chicks, for the second year in a row.
  • Hamlet Protein has hired Stephen Haye as new technical sales manager.
  • Nutriad has hired Antonio Vila as key account manager for Western Spain and Portugal.
  • Spiroflow Holdings Inc. has acquired Food Control Solutions Inc., the leading systems integration and automation company in the food industry.  The acquisition was completed on April 1, 2015.
  • Feed milling technologist Henri Rijnders has joined pathogen control specialist Anitox to support the drive for higher feed pellet quality and increased milling efficiency through Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
  • Waldo Genetics is now accepting applications for its annual swine industry scholarship. The Waldo Genetics Swine Industry Scholarship is designed to recognize the efforts of students that have chosen the swine industry as their career. The scholarship is available to returning students enrolled in an accredited swine industry-related program.
  • Associates at Perdue’s processing operation in Lewiston, North Carolina, have achieved a safety milestone after working nine million production hours without experiencing an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable lost-time case. Counting toward the milestone began in June 27, 2012.
  • In an eight-day seminar marathon, the Cobb world technical support team recently gave presentations to more than 700 people — an average of almost 100 people per day — from Cobb grandparent distributors in various parts of the Philippines.
  • Ziggity Systems has introduced a new e-bulletin service called Watering Insights to disseminate information about poultry watering best practices at the same time as it is posted on the company’s educational site, Poultry Watering U.
  • With technical expertise seen as the key to increased production efficiency, more than 120 delegates from 25 countries in the Middle East and Africa and the Asia-Pacific regions attended the Cobb broiler seminar held recently in Bangkok, Thailand.
  • Axcelera-P, AB Neo's world-first accelerator for pigs won the 'Technological Advance' award at FIGAN 2015, Spain's international animal production show.
  • The Aviagen stand at the recent VIV Asia exhibition, promoted the three commercial brands -- Arbor Acres, Indian River and Ross -- distributed in the Asia region.
  • Jennie-O Turkey Store recently supported the Midwest Poultry Consortium (MPC) and its core program - the Center of Excellence Scholarship/Internship Program (COE) - with a $10,000 contribution.
  • Foodmate US has named Barry Jefcoat as its new area sales manager.
  • Avian Technology International has named Chris Lewallen as production manager for its ATI Farms subsidiary.
  • Lallemand Animal Nutrition has recently hired two new product managers for its monogastric range of feed additives. Florence Rudeaux has joined the company as poultry product manager. David Saornil has joined as swine product manager.
  • During the celebration of its 70th anniversary in Bangkok, Thailand, layer breeding company H&N International launched its new logo. In the new logo, the red and blue colors of the H&N brand have been kept, with the addition of the slogan, “The key to your profit!”
  • Potters Poultry has added two new members to its sales team. Peter Ewin will cover the east of the country, and Gordon Hunter will cover Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England.
  • Urte Quiter joined BEWITAL agri in February and will be responsible for the sales and distribution in the Netherlands, Belgium and Asia.
  • DuPont Nutrition & Health has launched a new platform to reinforce the strength of the company’s offering to customers and the food industry. Titled “It’s What’s Inside,” the positioning cites all of the key attributes that make DuPont a global leader in specialty food ingredients and food protection, with a foundation in the strength of its people – nutrition and food scientists, consumer and market insight experts, global marketers and sustainability leaders – in addition to its broad product portfolio.
  • Sharon Heins Miller, DVM, will join Diamond V as poultry technical specialist.
  • Chore-Time has reached an agreement with Italy-based CGM to distribute its CUBO Line of air destratifying and heating systems.
  • Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients and Hamlet Protein have renewed the distribution agreement for the specialty soya protein range of Hamlet Protein in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Ross recently supported Wadi Group, its grandparent distributor in Egypt, by holding a four-day interactive training seminar on stock management, aimed at technical and commercial personnel. Twenty delegates attended the seminar, held in Cairo, which provided the latest technical information on stock management, including biosecurity, litter, feeding, ventilation and on identifying potential problems early on in broiler flocks.
  • Misr Poultry Grandparents (MPG) and Arbor Acres recently held a seminar at Mansoura in the Nile Delta region. The one-day seminar attracted more than 100 people. 
  • Feed additives company Global Nutrition International has named Sondang Iin as its new country manager for Indonesia.
