U.S. Rep. Martha Roby, R-Alabama, informed her constituents of recent visit to the Wayne Farms feed mill in Ozark, Alabama, and praised the company for its economic impact on the state.
In a weekly column, Roby stated that she spent time visiting businesses and local leaders in Alabama’s Second District, which has represented since 2011. Her recent visits included stops in Montgomery, Ozark, Hartford, Geneva, Millbrook, Troy, Dothan, and Fort Rucker. Roby is a former member of the Montgomery City Council.

“While in Ozark, I visited the recently-opened Wayne Farms feed mill,” Roby wrote. “I had the opportunity to visit with leadership and employees to learn more about their operation. Wayne Farms is the sixth largest vertically integrated poultry producer in the country, with over $1.9 billion in annual sales. I am grateful for the economic impact they provide in our district.”
In early 2017, Wayne Farms began operations at the 50,000-square-foot feed mill in Ozark. The facility has the capacity to produce 25,000 tons of poultry feed per week, which made it the largest startup in the country.
At the time Wayne Farms broke ground on the feed mill, in 2015, it was announced that the facility would employ about 88 people, with those jobs including manufacturing, feed hauling and administrative positions.
