Chinese customers from Cobb-Vantress franchise distributors Beijing Poultry Breeding Company were given insight into U.S. chicken production when they visited Tyson Foods and Pilgrim's during a recent trip.
According to Charles Calvert, director of Asian sales and technical service, the guests were impressed by the efficiency of the U.S. industry from hatching egg production through to processing. Beijing representatives saw a Pilgrim's parent stock farm in Georgia, a hatchery, broiler production and the Tyson Foods Albertville processing plant, which has an output of 1.8 million birds per week.
