Bunge North America has partnered with ITOCHU and STX Pan Ocean to build and operate an export grain terminal at the Port of Longview, Wash., according to a news report.
The terminal, called EGT Development LLC, will handle grain, oilseeds and protein meals. Expected to be operational by fall 2011, it will be able to handle 8 million metric tons of grain annually.
The terminal will have a shuttle train unloading system and will be able to unload barges from the Columbia River.
Bailey Ragan, vice president and general manager of Bunge Grain, said the agricultural production from Washington as well as locations in the Northwest, Midwest and Western Canada will be handled at the terminal.
