Libya recently purchased its first shipment of U.S. distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS), representing the most recent North African country in the Mediterranean region to buy the co-product, according to the U.S. Grains Council. The receiver, Essahel Lakhdar Feed Mill, has approximately a 20 to 25 percent share in the Libyan feed market. The company will conduct feeding trials in ruminant and poultry feeds using the DDGS, which is expected to arrive in Tripoli mid-September.
