Chicken meat prices have decreased by Rs 30 (US$0.35) per kilogram, from Rs 165 (US$1.92) to Rs 135 (US$1.57), in Pakistan as local farmers clear their poultry stock before the religious holiday Eid-ul-Azha.
There will be a very low demand of chicken meat after Eid-ul-Azha that is expected to last a month, according to poultry retailers, as local consumers will have stored Eid mutton and beef. Farmers are currently trying to sell what remains of their stock before Eid, driving prices down.
