French company iD Projects will highlight the company's latest products in automated hatchery technology and launch an industry partnership with product development specialists GMMI at SPACE France, September 10-13, 2013. SPACE is an international livestock trade fair.

Visitors to iD Projects' stand will be able to see the company's candling solution â€” iD Visio. Launched in November 2012, the candling system is capable of processing up to 120,000 eggs per hour. iD Visio enables early candling at just 10 days and has 100 percent reliable detection and removal of clear and dead embryos, according to the company.

SPACE France will also provide a platform for iD Projects to formally launch its new partnership with GMMI, a French-based industrial technology specialist. GMMI has developed a solution for managing the waste generated from infertile and dead embryos. The solution â€” a liquid/solid separator â€” makes it possible to separate, recover and treat the waste liquid and the dry shell waste generated during the transfer process.

The recovered liquid waste, when treated, can be used within the pet food manufacturing process and the dry waste can be used to produce fertilizer. Research is also underway to determine whether the shell can be used in poultry feed as a calcium additive. This process offers commercial opportunities for hatchery owners. Companies would reduce the volume and weight of waste they have to dispose of and could sell the recovered material to other markets.

The separator will connect to the iD Visio candling system. More details of the partnership will be unveiled during SPACE France, where GMMI will have its technology on show beside iD Visio.

"We are very excited about returning to SPACE France. We exhibit at a number of international shows, but to be back on our own home turf and share our success stories from the past year is definitely something we are looking forward to. We would encourage visitors to come on stand and find out more about the latest developments in hatchery automation," said Vincent Fevrier, sales and marketing director at iD Projects.
