The social program for the 24th International Pig Veterinary Society (IPVS) Congress and 8th European Symposium of Porcine Health Management (ESPHM) includes a gala and an evening of horse racing and music. The jointly-held swine health event will take place June 7-10 in Dublin, Ireland.
Special social activities include the Horse Racing Night, the Gala Dinner Evening and special tours.
Horse Racing Night
The Horse Racing Night will take place on June 9 at Leopardstown Racecourse. The evening will include a combination of food, music, fast-paced horse races and an open air concert series encompassing all things Irish.
This is an optional night; tickets are limited and will cost ERU80 (US$87.90) per person, which includes:
- Return coach transfer to and from the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) to Leopardstown
- Entrance to the racecourse – 7 races at 30 minute intervals between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
- EUR5 (US$5.5) tote bet
- Stand-up buffet
- Drink voucher
- Open air concert after final race
Gala Dinner Evening
RDS will host the Gala Dinner Evening at 7 p.m. June 10. Located in the heart of Dublin city’s exclusive Ballsbridge area, the Gala Dinner Evening at the RDS will begin with a sit-down dinner prepared by award-winning chefs using prime locally sourced ingredients, creating a special menu that will highlight all of Ireland’s produce.
Irish entertainment will follow.
Tickets can be booked through the registration portal and cost EUR100 (US$110).
Tours and activities
In addition to the Horse Racing Night and Gala Dinner Evening, IPVS/ESPHM also has a host of tours and activities available. These include tours of Dublin, visits to countryside castles, adventure parks, sports stadiums and many more.
