Meyn Polska has taken over production space totaling 10,375 sq. meters (34,038.7 sq. feet) and nearly 2,000 sq. meters (6,561.68 sq. feet) of office building space. The company, based in Lebork/Pomerania since 1996, has been part of Meyn Food Processing Technology BV since 2007. Meyn is one of the world 's largest manufacturers of poultry processing solutions. The Polish facilities specialize in the manufacture of machinery for live bird arrival systems, as well as parts and accessories for other equipment that are later assembled at Meyn's Dutch headquarters.
The expansion project was delivered on time and within budget, taking just 11 months from start to finish. From an initial 6,000 sq. meters (19,685 sq. feet) of manufacturing footprint, Meyn has developed into one of the region's largest and most important employers.
"Following this extension, we are ready for the future," commented Dariusz Karaś, Managing Director of Meyn Poland. "The new halls are not yet equipped to their full production capacity, but much of the machinery is already in place. We still have plans to expand our portfolio and integrate test systems for our machines. The poultry industry is still growing strongly, and we are growing with it while setting ambitious future goals."
The new production space was officially opened at a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Victor A. Mancinelli, Chairman and CEO of the U.S. parent company CTB, Inc.; Joanna Wolska, Global Director Marketing and Product Management; and Karaś.
On the Saturday before the opening, a Family Day was held so that the owners could present the new facilities to family members and friends. On June 12, Meyn's suppliers had the opportunity to inspect and celebrate the new development. The official opening on June 13 was reserved for Meyn's customers, who attended in large numbers to witness Meyn take this crucial step into the future. Customers also took the opportunity to discuss trends and future technologies with the Meyn specialists present.
