Maple Leaf Foods announces nominees to stand for election to the board

Maple Leaf Foods announced April 6 that Dr. Katherine N. Lemon, Ph.D., and Mr. Jonathan W.F. McCain have been nominated to join the board of directors and will stand for election at the Annual Meeting, increasing the board size to 11 directors.

Maple Leaf Foods announced April 6 that Dr. Katherine N. Lemon, Ph.D., and Mr. Jonathan W.F. McCain have been nominated to join the board of directors and will stand for election at the Annual Meeting, increasing the board size to 11 directors. Dr. Lemon has been nominated as an independent director and Mr. McCain has been nominated as a non-independent director pursuant to the terms of the governance agreement with McCain Capital Inc., which holds 37.1% of the Company's shares.

Dr. Lemon is the Accenture Professor at Boston College, Carroll School of Management. Dr. Lemon's award-winning work in marketing science, especially focused on consumer goods and services, has been implemented in organizations worldwide. She is a globally recognized expert in understanding consumer experience and loyalty. Dr. Lemon has served on the faculty of Harvard Business School, Duke University and the University of Groningen in The Netherlands. She holds a Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley.

Mr. McCain is the President of Andover Capital Corporation, a privately held investment and holding company, which has investments in small to mid-market companies including a leading Canadian construction equipment provider. Previously, he worked as a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group. He is a director of McCain Capital Inc., and an investment committee member and director of McCain Capital Partners. Mr. McCain graduated from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario with an Honours in Business Administration degree.
