Citing an improvement in economic conditions, Jamaica Broilers Group is lowering the list price of The Best Dressed Chicken Grade A whole bird and mixed parts.
The change equates to a JM$12.50 (US$0.083) per kilo reduction from the list price. That change is effective August 18, 2022.
“It is a very good economic signal that we are able to implement a price reduction at this time,” Christopher Levy, group president and CEO of Jamaica Broilers Group, stated in a press release. “As always, we will continue to review our prices as conditions evolve.”
The improved economic factors that led to this change, the company explained, include more stability in the grain market, stabilization of the foreign exchange rate, and reductions in containerized shipping costs.
A fully integrated poultry company, Jamaica Broilers has operations in Jamaica, Haiti the United States and the Cayman Islands, according to the WATTPoultry.com Top Companies Database. Its broiler chicken brands include The Best Dressed Chicken and Hi-Pro.
The company is involved in both broiler and table egg production.
