Brazil’s January-May chicken exports up strongly

Brazilian poultry exporters notched up another strong performance at the start of the year and should commercial production remain HPAI free, this looks set to continue.

Over the first five months of 2023 Brazil exported almost 10% more chicken meat. The country has hit the headlines as of late due to the incursion of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), but the virus has, to date, only been registered in wild birds; and the Brazilian poultry sector has continued to export.
