Thomas Hensley Jr., president of Fieldale Farms Corporation of Georgia, was installed as Chairman of the National Chicken Council (NCC). He moved up to chairman from vice chairman and has served on the NCC board since 2001.

Bernard Leonard, group vice president/food service, Tyson Foods, took office as Vice Chairman. Leonard is a former member of the board and executive committee of the Alabama Poultry & Egg Association. He spent 12 years on the board of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association.


Other appointments included Lampkin Butts, president of Sanderson Farms, who became Secretary-Treasurer. Butts has served on the NCC board since 2004 and has also served on the boards of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association and the Mississippi Poultry Association.
