Kansas City, Mo.-based pork producer, Farmland Foods, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the pork business, according to reports. It started with the 1959 acquisition of a pork plant in Iowa.
Farmland Foods now employs about 9,000 people in several locations and earns US$3 billion in revenue each year.
The business is a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods Inc.
