As students at Michigan State University (MSU) return to campus following a tragic event when three people were killed and five others were injured by a mass shooter on February 13, the Buffalo Wild Wings branch in East Lansing, Michigan, is offering a kind gesture to give back to the students.

Anyone enrolled at MSU who shows a student ID will be given six free boneless wings between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. on February 22, reported WLNS. No purchase will be necessary.

“We wanted to show the students in East Lansing that we stand behind them,” Joel Dover, Buffalo Wild Wings district manager told the station. “This community is where we have roots and what happened here last week was devastating, so we wanted to bring a little positivity back to those students who are returning.”

The shootings occurred in two campus buildings: Berkey Hall and the MSU Union. The deceased have been identified as Arielle Anderson, Alexandria Verner and Brian Fraser.

Founded in 1982, Buffalo Wild Wings now serves nearly 2 billion wings each year chain-wide.

The parent company for Buffalo Wild Wings is Inspire Brands, which formed in 2018, following Arby’s Restaurant Group’s acquisition of Buffalo Wild Wings. Other chains that are now part of Inspire Brands include Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin’, Jimmy John’s, Rusty Taco and Sonic.
