Mitsui, a trading company, and Japanese Asahi Breweries announced a new partnership, which will create a joint venture trading comany known as Advanced Yeast Technologies Japan, according to a press release by Alltech.
Alltech will provide the research and development required to bring the products of this collaboration to the commercial marketplace. By 2014, 20 billion yen (US$200 million) in sales is targeted by the company.
“We have been working with Mitsui for over 25 years and look forward to making these plans a reality,” said Alltech president and founder, Dr. Pearse Lyons.
