The U.S. Department of Agriculture has found no new violations at a kosher poultry processing plant in New Square, New York, that was ordered closed in December, according to The Journal News, a local newspaper.
A neighbor living near the New Square Meats plant reported concerns to government authorities after she saw workers unloading boxes from a tractor-trailer at the plant on January 13.
USDA inspectors went to the plant and found that New Square Meats had agreed to store frozen chickens, which is not a violation of the federal order. A federal judge ordered New Square Meats closed in December 2010 because chickens were not being inspected by the USDA and the plant had numerous health and food safety violations.
