Another suspect has been arrested in a case where $40,000 worth of boneless chicken meat was allegedly taken from the Pilgrim’s Pride plant in Sumpter, South Carolina.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), earlier issued a press release concerning the arrest of Jeremy McFadden, 37, Sumter, who turned himself in on May 26 for his alleged involvement in the crime. However, the SCSO had not yet issued a press release concerning an earlier arrest that was made on May 19, because personnel were busy conducting an investigation concerning other potential suspects, an agency spokesperson said.
Antonio Nashawn Blackwell, 30, Manning, SC, was arrested on that day, according to the SCSO.
Like McFadden, Blackwell was booked into the SCSO Detention Center and charged with grand larceny.
Both suspects have been freed on $20,000 bonds.
Information concerning court appearances for either of the two suspects has not yet been released.
