The World Veterinary Association (WVA) and Ceva Santé Animale proudly announce Yuri Victor Calvo as the recipient of the Student of the Year award, in partnership with the International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA), for the upcoming WVA Global Veterinary Awards.

Calvo, hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, served as president of IVSA from 2022-2023. A recent graduate from the University of São Paulo's School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, he currently holds a PIBIC Scholarship, focusing on undergraduate research in small animals' clinical nutrition.

His dedication extends beyond academics; Calvo has actively led initiatives promoting youth leadership and encouraging involvement in the veterinary profession. He emerges as the fourth category winner in anticipation of the awards ceremony during the 39th World Veterinary Association Congress (WVAC) in Cape Town, South Africa, on April 17.

Remaining awards, including veterinary education, will be disclosed in the lead-up to the WVAC. The overall Veterinarian of the Year will be unveiled during the event.
