Cloverleaf Cold Storage has completed an expansion to its Benson, N.C., facility that will provide 3,500 extra pallet positions and 3,000 square feet to its poultry and pork storage.

The improvements increased the building's size by 20%, adding convertible refrigerated space and growing the refrigerated loading dock. The project is part of an $8 million capital improvement investment in three facilities that Cloverleaf purchased in June 2010. The other warehouses are located in Sumter, S.C., and Chesapeake, Va. All three plants are undergoing major upgrades as part of a company-wide green initiative.
