The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) releases its World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report each month, and that report always includes a lot of interesting statistics.
Whether your primary area of interest has to do with a particular crop, livestock species or poultry species, it is well worth perusing.
Among the things worth watching in the report are the production estimates for broilers and turkeys in the United States. This not only includes the projections for annual production of the present year, but in the July WASDE report, it also gives projections for annual production of 2019. It also offers a look at production numbers for the previous year.
The production forecasts are subject to change each month. For instance, the USDA’s July projections for U.S. broiler production is raised on recent hatchery data and expected heavier birds, while the turkey production forecast is also raised slightly on production data to date.
