Growers attending the IPE/IFE on Grower Day, Thursday, January 24, can use a free roundtrip bus service originating from several locations in Northeast Georgia and Alabama. Buses will pick up riders from the following cities in Georgia: Carnesville, Gainesville, Dalton and Calhoun. A bus will also pick up riders in Guntersville, Ala.
Carnesville/Gainesville bus departs from Carnesville at 7 a.m. from the Ag Center behind Franklin County High School, 6570 Highway 145, Carnesville, Ga. It proceeds to the Gainesville Sam's Club at 3137 Frontage Road (park away from the store close to Interstate 985) and depart at 8 a.m. to the Georgia World Congress Center.
Dalton/Calhoun bus departs at 7 a.m. from the Northwest Georgia Trade & Convention Center at 2211 Dug Gap Battle Road (turn right upon entering and proceed to the southernmost parking area). The bus proceeds to the Livestock Pavilion at the Gordon County Extension off Highway 53 (adjacent to the office at 1 McDaniel Station Road) in Calhoun, Ga. The bus departs Calhoun at 7:45 a.m. for the Georgia World Congress Center.
Guntersville bus departs from the Guntersville Recreation Center Ball Field Complex (on the corner of Sunset Drive and US Highway 69) parking lot at 7 a.m. CST for transport to the Georgia World Congress Center.
All three busses depart from the Georgia World Congress Center at 5 p.m.
Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge. Reservations can be made by calling the Georgia Poultry Federation at (770) 532-0473, the Marshall County Extension office in Alabama at (256) 506-1875 or the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association at (770) 493-9401.
Growers can register on-site for a special reduced fee of $5; poultry company employees and industry suppliers should preregister at www.ipe08.org for $30, or register upon arrival for $50.
The bus service is offered through the cooperation of the Alabama Poultry & Egg Association, the Alabama and Georgia Cooperative Extension Systems and the Georgia Poultry Federation.
