“There’s no better place to celebrate the New Year than at Applebee’s - especially with our All You Can Eat Boneless Wings, Riblets and Double Crunch Shrimp paired with our delicious endless classic fries,” said Joel Yashinsky, chief marketing officer at Applebee’s. “Whether starting with Riblets or Double Crunch Shrimp, followed by Boneless Wings on repeat, you can’t go wrong with this endless deal!”

The boneless chicken wings come with a choice of sauce – buffalo, honey BBQ, sweet Asian chile, garlic parmesan, extra hot buffalo and honey pepper – and a side of coleslaw, fries and bleu cheese or ranch dressing.

Cost of chicken going down

One reason for the return of the fan-favorite menu item could be that it is currently more cost effective. Chicken will be one of the biggest restaurant trends of 2023 due to a decrease in the cost of poultry, according to a survey of 500 industry experts by the National Restaurant Association

Chicken breast prices are down 70% from June, along with other parts like thighs and wings, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Other chains potentially taking advantage of the lower cost chicken with new or returning menu items are Burger King, Popeyes and Wendy’s

Fun fact

Applebee’s parent company, DineEquity Inc, has committed to purchasing 100% cage-free eggs for all restaurant locations in the U.S. and Latin America by 2025.
