Two new limited time offers from Chester’s Chicken combine buffalo macaroni and cheese and fried chicken.
"We introduced our new mac and cheese recipe last fall, and it has quickly become our best-selling side," said Scott Richard, director of culinary innovation, Chester's Chicken.
"As mac and cheese continues to trend as a favorite across quick-service restaurants throughout the country, we're giving our guests a taste of something special – combining our famous fried chicken and buffalo sauce with our award-winning mac and cheese into two delicious, indulgent entrée offerings."
The Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese Bowl and the Buffalo Mac Chicken Sandwich are “a spicy, bold twist on the classic comfort food,” according to a press release from the quick service restaurant (QSR) chain.
The latest menu additions show that the chicken sandwich war is still on. Following an initial product launch in 2019, the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen chicken sandwich propelled the quick service brand – and fried chicken sandwiches – to viral success.
Foodservice competitors worked quickly to develop their own chicken offerings, with 95 new chicken sandwiches entering the market between January and June 2021. Notably, McDonald’s added the crispy chicken sandwich to menus, which helped boost consolidated revenue 57% for the brand in 2021 compared to the year before.

The Buffalo Mac Chicken Sandwich weighs 14.5 ounces, with a fried chicken breast tossed in buffalo sauce, a scoop of mac and cheese and a slice of American cheese served on a brioche bun. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese features two servings of mac and cheese, topped with six chicken bites tossed in buffalo sauce.
The Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese Bowl and the Buffalo Mac Chicken Sandwich are available until January 17, 2023, at participating Chester’s Chicken locations.
Chester’s Chicken serves bone-in chicken, super tenders, bites and sandwiches, alongside a variety of home-style sides, dipping sauces and desserts. The QSR concept operates 1,100 locations throughout the U.S.
