Chick-fil-A emphasized customer service, respect and authenticity to sell chicken as the foundation for the 2021 #thelittlethings marketing campaign.

The chicken foodservice brand was recently named a finalist for the first annual Chicken Marketer of the Year award. This award recognizes excellence in marketing and public relations campaigns in keeping chicken as the protein on the center of the plate.

The winner of the Chicken Marketer of the Year will be announced at the 2022 Chicken Marketing Summit, scheduled for July 25-27 at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia on July 25-27.

The value of customer service

Although the Chick-fil-A brand is well-known for its chicken sandwiches and waffle fries, the quick service restaurant also places a high value on customer service.

“When you’re in the restaurant business like we are, you get to observe moments every day where people care for one another. Families celebrating over shared Waffle Potato Fries, unexpected friendships formed at the playground, drivers in our drive-thrus paying for the order of the car behind them, Chick-fil-A Team Members refreshing beverages with a ‘my pleasure,’” the brand shared on their website.

Customer service in marketing isn’t a new idea, but the chicken foodservice brand developed a 2021 marketing plan that highlighted Chick-fil-A’s dedication to customer satisfaction.

The 2021 advertising campaign showcased interactions between Chick-fil-A team members and customers. Initial spots debuted on television, but later spots launched on its Facebook and YouTube channels.

For example, one ad spot called “#thelittlethings – change” documented how one Chick-fil-A team member returned a customer’s forgotten change when they returned to the restaurant a month later.
