Post Holdings President CEO Robert V. Vitale returned to the job as the CEO of the company on January 30, after having been on a medical leave of absence for close to three months.

“I am grateful to my family, my excellent medical team, my colleagues at Post, and all who have supported me,” Vitale said in a press release. “I am excited and energized about what we will accomplish in 2024 and beyond.”

During a quarterly earnings call on November 17, 11 days after he went on a leave of absence, Vitale revealed that he had a malignant tumor successfully removed, but the process of receiving radiation and chemotherapy treatments was arduous enough it was better for him to temporarily step aside.

While Vitale was on leave, the company’s chief operating officer (COO) and executive vice president (EVP), Jeff A. Zadoks served as the interim CEO. Zadoks had been COO since 2022, and before that, he was the chief financial officer of Post Holdings for eight years. Zadoks resumed his work as COO and EVP.
