Interest in no antibiotic ever (NAE) growing programs for commercial poultry in the U.S. increased rapidly over the past decade. With just 3% of poultry flocks raised NAE in 2013, the percentage of broilers raised NAE grew to 58% in 2018 and has stayed consistently at that number since then. This type of growing program prohibits the use of antibiotics as well as ionophores or coccidiostats, used to treat coccidiosis.
